Why You Should Listen To Podcasts And Top Podcasts (and Episodes) I Recommend Beginners To Listen.
Back in the scary times of 2020, As I settled into the new normal of lockdown life, my daily routine revolved around screens for nearly 12 hours a day. Online classes, movies, series — you name it, my eyes were glued to it. It was during one of these screen-heavy days that I stumbled upon a realization: I needed a change, a break for my weary eyes. That’s when podcasts, particularly audio podcasts, marched into my life like a breath of fresh air.
What I didn’t expect was how beneficial this journey would be. Podcasts became my versatile companions, fitting seamlessly into various parts of my day. Whether I was cooking, jogging, or just lounging around, there was always a podcast to keep me company. More than just fillers of time, these podcasts turned into gateways of knowledge, spanning topics from the intricacies of technology to the mysteries of history.
But the most significant change? The improvement in my listening skills and attention span. Audio podcasts demanded a level of attention and engagement that visual media didn’t. In today’s world, where attention spans are often short, I initially found myself zoning out while listening. However, as I continued, I gradually adapted to this new form of media consumption. Tuning into podcasts became a valuable exercise in maintaining focus. I learned to listen — really listen — catching the subtleties and nuances in each dialogue and story. This not only sharpened my concentration but also helped me develop a more sustained attention span, countering the fleeting nature of focus in our fast-paced digital age.
Fast forward to today, and I’ve clocked in over 800 hours of podcast listening. So I would like to recommend a few podcasts and a few specific episodes I liked. Note that they are not in order or preference, so go through all the podcasts till the end, you might find something you will like :)
